Pre-Installation Tips

Preparing your space is vital for a seamless one-day installation:

Clear the Area:

Remove all items from the garage, ensuring the area is clean and empty for the installers.

Clear 2 Feet Above Floor:

Keep walls clear at least 2 feet above the floor for equipment operation.

Stop Parking Inside:

Avoid parking on the floor the night before installation to prevent moisture buildup from snow or AC units.

Paint First:

Perform any painting of walls or ceilings before the coating is applied.

Do not wash the floor:

Don’t hose or wash the floor before we arrive.

Remove Moisture-Retaining Objects:

Remove rugs, planters, and anything that will hold moisture in the concrete as soon as possible.

Disable Sprinkler System:

If you have a sprinkler system, ensure that it is turned off at least 3 days in advance and remains off until past the cure time.

Best Practices for Concrete Floors

To ensure your premium floor remains in pristine condition, please take note of these essential post-installation guidelines:

Do’s

  • Wait to Walk/Drive:

Allow at least 6-8 hours before walking on the floor (next morning is best) and 24 hours before driving on it.

  • Wait for Full Cure:

Wait 36-48 hours before driving on the floor for best results, and 72 hours for full chemical resistance.

  • Keep Ventilated:

Keep your garage door open until the morning following installation for proper curing.

  • Regular Cleaning:

Sweep or use a microfiber mop regularly to remove sand, salt, and debris, which can act like sandpaper over time.

  • Use Proper Cleaners:

Use simple cleaners like Dawn dish soap, Simple Green, Pine-Sol, or CLR.

  • Use a Squeegee:

A squeegee is highly effective for removing water and preventing spots.

  • Protect the Surface:

Use felt pads under furniture/equipment and mats under motorcycle kickstands.

Don’ts

  • Avoid Harsh Cleaners:

Do not use acids, bleach, ammonia, or citrus-based cleaners, as they can degrade the coating.

  • Avoid Abrasives:

Do not use stiff-bristle brushes or abrasive cleaning pads, which can scratch the finish.

  • No Steam Cleaners:

Avoid using steam cleaners, as high heat/pressure can damage the coating.

  • Do Not Drag Heavy Items:

Avoid dragging heavy equipment or furniture, which can cause scratches or gouges.

  • Avoid Long-Term Chemical Exposure:

Clean up oil, grease, or chemicals promptly to avoid potential long-term damage or staining.

  • Do Not Park Immediately:

Avoid driving or parking on the floor for at least 24 hours post-installation.

  • Avoid Prolonged Salt Melt Treatments:

Sweep up and remove salt melt as soon as possible to prevent the salt from corroding the concrete.

  • Do Not Use Salt Melt That Contains Dye:

Avoid using salt melts with dyeing agents, as they could cause permanent stains on your floor.

  • Do Not Use Metal-Edged Shovels and Other Tools:

Use plastic-edged equipment to avoid scratching and damaging your floor.

Maintenance Tips

Maintaining the luster of your Pinnacle floor is simple with regular care:

Deep Cleaning:

For a deeper clean, mix a mild cleaner with warm water, let it sit for 5-10 minutes, scrub with a soft brush, and rinse.

Recommended Cleaner:

Ask us about Penntek’s LGX-501 cleaner, designed specifically for these floors.

Frequency:

Regular sweeping and occasional rinsing are usually sufficient to maintain the floor’s appearance.
